Art Director–Web/App Design, UI/UX (FT)

Bright Bright Great is looking for an Art Director with 5-10 years experience and passion creating beautiful, usable and accessible websites, web apps, and thorough branding systems.

The ideal candidate for this role is a creative leader and thinker, an optimist who fosters inspiring relationships, has a deep portfolio of complex design work including visual identity systems, UI, UX, website design, apps, and other digital.

Important, applicant must have deep experience with website design, UI, and UX and a passion for how users engage with digital.

BBG is a small team, so this role is as much a “doer” as “leader.” Our entire team is always all-hands on deck, this is not a job of delegation and guidance only–serious design chops are required. This position reports directly to our Agency Director, and is part of our Leadership (which includes our Agency Owner, Business Development Lead and Project Management Lead).

About Bright Bright Great

Bright Bright Great is a small, but mighty Chicago-based multidisciplinary design studio (est. 2008), creating interactive digital experiences that align technology and accessibility in unique ways.

Our team is fully remote, and operates in CST.


  • 5-10 years creating websites, applications, and UI in the digital space (art direction, design build, development handoff, refinement and improvement)
  • 5-10 years working with UX tasks (digital strategy, information architecture, user journeys, brand systems)
  • 5-10 years communicating, presenting and selling work to clients
  • Expert-level awareness and ability to create contemporary graphic design for the web
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma and design systems
  • Expert-level familiarity with WordPress and CMS-based digital (as a designer working within a CMS, not as a developer with ability to develop creative)


  • Be a creative lead for all things BBG both internal and external
  • Estimate projects with business development
  • Art Direct on projects with team
  • Design on projects with team
  • Present, or Co-Present design work to clients
  • Coordinate with Project Management to deliver great work on time
  • Be an awesome team member
